There are quite a few movies out there that depict baseball cards but this scene from the 1942 classic “Pride of the Yankees” is by far my favorite! Imagine being a kid back during this time with a pocket full of tobacco cards!!

Very nice. Thinking of starting a collection myself
@@suitedandbooted363 I’d say go for it! These old Ring magazines are very affordable and it’s fun flipping through them and reading about the great fighters of the time… thanks for watching!
Pins from that era are surprisingly resonable compared to cards etc. I'm hoping to add a few in the near future. Great video!
@@mikethesportshistorycollec1947 They really are! I bought this disc for a lot less than I would have paid for a Johnny Evers T206 card in the same grade, these aren’t as popular with collectors but that’s what I like about them… Thanks for watching brother!
Great pickup!
@@stuke1976 Thanks for watching bro!
I picked up one of those for my type collection years ago. Great item. If you throw in the potential domino back variations along with the colors a person could spend their life trying to build a supposed master set of those.
@@dustinbellinger3436 I agree 100% That would be an incredible master set to put together although most likely impossible, thanks for watching my friend!

I remember Stallone saying that even though the apartment building was shot in the Kensington area of Philadelphia, the interior of the apartment was shot somewhere in Los Angeles. I’ve always wondered where.
@@darkknight1938 I remember hearing that as well, most likely in a studio
...too be able to go back and live that time period at least for a week! ..or a month.
I would love to go back to that time and watch the all time greats play the game⚾️
yeS!..he let him keep the Rookie Ruth's card, must be about 1914 or so.... Gehrig wood be about 11 years old...Good stuff! :)
Thanks for watching and commenting!!
what year did Base-Ball become Baseball ?
I’d say the 1840’s when Alexander Cartwright formed the Knickerbockers
If you find my underwear… Leave it on this strawberry😂😂
Nice pickup, do you also have his autograph?
@@dvitoc I’ve never picked up his autograph, it is very affordable though… thanks for watching brother!

I have the original as well, are the cards worth cutting out and selling individually if I’m not a sports illustrator collector? Or would it be more valuable as a whole
@@JackJones-h3q I would definitely keep the cards intact in the magazine, these cards don’t carry much value if they’re cut individually
Those sounds bring back great memories of my cousins Staten Island basement! 🥃🎙️🥚
I was thinking what everyone else was about the classic sounds. MLB games have come such a long way. Cheers
@@punisher6 That they have! Now a days the video game looks just as real as the ball game⚾️
Man, that gameplay was something else. I'm guessing that static noise was meant to be the crowd cheering? 😄
@@nine_pockets That cheering goes on for the entire game and never stops, those are some devoted fans right there 😂
